Best Practices & Essential Guidelines
- Clean Your Top Row Headers: The converter uses row 1 as the JSON keys. Ensure row 1 does not contain merged cells, empty gaps, or duplicate names. Use strict camelCase (e.g., `firstName`) for developer friendly output.
- Remove Hidden Metadata: Excel files often contain hidden sheets, massive blank columns, and macro metadata. Highlight and delete all unused columns to dramatically reduce the JSON output payload size.
- Format Dates as Text Before Export: Excel handles dates bizarrely (as the number of days since Jan 1, 1900). To prevent the JSON from outputting raw integers like `44197`, explicitly format your date columns as 'Text' (YYYY-MM-DD) inside Excel before converting.
